My Family History & Genealogy

The Wild Family

My grandmother was Edith Mabel Wild.

Thanks to the efforts of a volunteer researcher by the name of Stella Watkins we have finally been able to trace some of the Wild family.  Most of the ancestors I've found so far come from the St Pancras area of London.  As you can see there is still a long way to go!

Her father James Wild has been a nightmare to find, he appears in the 1841 census with his family and then completely dissappears until 1871 when he re-appears with his wife Mary and their children, however we can find no record of their marriage.  In 1871 his surname has been entered as Wilson, this could be an error by the person recording the data or it could be that he was using his mothers maiden name which may imply that he was in hiding or something.  In his will he refers to his wife Mary as 'Mary Ash' again making us wonder if they did ever marry.

I still have a lot of work to do with this family but here is what I have found so far.
